Is Revo Uninstaller free?
A free edition exists for non-commercial use. Pro adds features like install monitoring and extended support; compare inside the app.
Can deleting leftovers break my PC?
Risk grows if you select everything without reading. Keep backups, skip shared runtimes, and leave items tied to apps you still use.
Does it replace Settings → Apps?
They work together. Settings is fine for simple cases; Revo helps when uninstallers fail or leave junk behind.
Forced Uninstall or Hunter Mode first?
If the program appears in the list, try normal uninstall, then Forced. If it does not appear, try Hunter Mode.
Why so many items in a scan?
Temp files, caches, and logs add up. Treat the list as suggestions and verify each path.
Can I use it at work?
Follow your IT policy. The free build is not for commercial use; Pro is the usual choice for businesses.
Do I need administrator rights?
Often yes for system-wide removals. If an uninstall stops with “access denied,” close the app, then launch Revo with Run as administrator from the shortcut menu.
What is install monitoring (Pro)?
It records changes the system makes while you install a new program. Later, uninstall and leftover scans can use that trail. Turn it on before you install software you might remove soon.
Will this speed up my PC?
Removing unused apps and startup clutter helps, but it does not replace RAM or SSD upgrades. Expect fewer background tasks, not a guaranteed benchmark jump.
Is Windows Server supported?
The program targets desktop Windows. Servers may run it, but licensing, drivers, and roles differ. Follow vendor documentation and test outside production first.
Where are backups stored?
Paths depend on what you export and the options you choose during setup. Open the in-app backup or logs area and read the displayed folder before you delete large archives.
My antivirus blocks the uninstall. What now?
Confirm the alert is for the real executable. If it is a false positive, restore the file, add a temporary exclusion for that session, finish the uninstall, then remove the exclusion. Do not leave protection off longer than necessary.
How do I update Revo Uninstaller?
Use the built-in update check if your build includes it, or download a fresh installer from a source you trust. Close the app before upgrading, then reboot if the setup asks for it.
The program is just a folder. Can Revo remove it?
Portable apps often skip the installer database. Delete the folder manually after you back up settings, then use Hunter Mode or a junk scan to catch stray shortcuts. Forced Uninstall targets broken entries, not arbitrary folders you never registered.
Can Revo Uninstaller remove viruses?
It is not a replacement for antivirus. Use reputable security software for malware, then uninstall infected programs through normal or guided removal. Revo helps with legitimate software leftovers after the threat is gone.
Why do I see OneDrive or Dropbox paths in scans?
Cloud clients mirror folders locally. Pause sync or confirm files are not placeholders before you delete. Removing a cloud path can break sync for every device on that account.
Does it run on 32-bit Windows?
Modern builds focus on 64-bit desktop Windows. If you still maintain 32-bit systems, download the build your vendor documents for that architecture and test on non-critical hardware first.
